
Authors to remember stars of Negro League

St. Xavier University (SXU), 3700 W. 103rd St., will commemorate the Negro National League’s 90th anniversary with a presentation from three awardwinning authors at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 12.
Jim Coates, Leslie Heaphy and Larry Lester will discuss the historic baseball players that helped integrate America’s national pastime.
A League to Remember: The Negro National League is free and open to the public, and all are invited to see the role Chicago played in the black baseball league’s success. It will be held in the fourth floor board room in the Warde Academic Center. The lecture will include memorabilia and photographs, as well as time for questions and one-on-ones with the presenters.
