An unknown man, claiming he had a gun, robbed a bank on the 11100 block of South Western Avenue on Jan. 29 at 5 p.m., police said.
The offender, described as a black man, 32 to 35 years old, 5’9”, 160 pounds, wearing a black skull cap, yellow vest and tan construction jumpsuit, approached a bank teller’s booth after a customer had just walked away, police said.
The offender gave a note to the teller indicating that he had a gun and wanted the proceeds from the drawer. He never displayed a weapon, police said.
He told the teller to take the security dye pack out of the bag before he fled north on Western, police said.
The amount stolen was undetermined.
