A Beverly business was the victim of two “smash and grab” burglaries recently, according to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department.

The alert stated that a business on the 2300 block of West 95th Street “specializing in men’s street clothing” was burglarized.

Police said the incidents were reported at 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 10 and 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.

A group of offenders broke the glass of the business, police said, then placed numerous clothing items in bags and fled the store.

Police did not report the exact location, but a business on that block has been victimized by similar crimes in recent years, with vehicles crashing into windows, and passengers then stealing items and fleeing.

Police advised business owners to have an alarm system and keep cash secure.
