Christ the King

The Rev. Larry Sullivan is celebrating his 25th anniversary of ordination. Sullivan has been the pastor of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave., for three years. Sullivan will be honored on Saturday, May 20, at 5 p.m.

The celebration will also include Christ the King’s associate pastor Matthew Litak celebrating one year.

A reception will follow the service.

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9401 S. Oakley Ave., will present the Rick Steves production of “Luther and the Reformation” on Wednesday, May 24, at 7 p.m.

Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther triggered the Reformation, which ultimately split Western European Christianity in two: Catholic and Protestant.

Refreshments will be provided and a discussion will follow the one-hour presentation. All are invited.

Salem United Church of Christ

Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Kostner Ave., in Oak Lawn, will hold a parking lot sale on Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a rain date of Saturday, June 10.

The Center

The Center, 12700 Southwest Highway, in Palos Park, will host a family service on Sunday, May 21, at 10 a.m.

Participants will gather outdoors behind the lodge, on the west side of Southwest Highway, for this family friendly service. Hospitality will be shared.

Spirituality 101: Embracing an Alternative Orthodoxy: Richard Rohr on the Legacy of St. Francis will be discussed on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. or Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m., beginning May 23 and 25.
