The South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee will kick off this year’s festivities with its annual pre-parade fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 11 p.m., at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., in Merrionette Park.
The celebration is the kickoff of parade season and a great way to support a family-friendly community event.
Highlights of the evening will include a pipe and drums procession as well as performances by The Larkin and Moran Brothers, Avondale Ramblers, and traditional Irish music in the “Bourbon Street Saloon.”
Party-goers will also hear the announcement about the selection of the 2020 queen of the South Side Irish Parade.
Games of chance and other activities will also be enjoyed at the party.
Representatives of South Side Irish Imports will be on hand with the store’s Official 2020 Parade T-shirts.
Tickets are $40, and they include food, beer, wine and pop. Proceeds from the evening will help support paying the costs of operating the parade.
The South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off on Sunday, March 15, at noon, from 103rd Street and Western Avenue and proceed south down Western Avenue to 115th Street.
