The Church of Chicago will host a basketball camp called Big City Basketball Camp (BCBC). This event is an outreach to the community and will be held at Vanderpoel School, 9510 S. Prospect Ave., from July 10 to 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, for boys and girls in the third- through eighth-grade. This camp is created to build communities through sports participation and character building.

At camp, the participants will have fun, grow and mature as they develop sportsmanship and teamwork. Organizers offer skills training, contests, life lessons and healthy competition that all adds up to a holistic experience where every camper gets an equal opportunity to play and learn. The camp is led by volunteers along with parents, friends and neighbors who provide a positive and supportive atmosphere.
