A crossing guard was in stable condition after fainting and losing consciousness near St. John Fisher Elementary School (SJF), according to authorities.
The Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs said the incident was reported at 7:37 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, on the 2600 block of West 103rd Street.
Chicago Fire Department Spokesperson Larry Langford said the 49-year-old female crossing guard was provided CPR by a bystander, and emergency personnel found her "unresponsive but with a pulse." The crossing guard was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in serious but stable condition, he said.
Several emergency personnel were on the scene.
SJF Principal Maura Nash said no children were injured.
