Community Alert

An armed robbery was reported in Beverly on the night of Oct. 21, according to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department.

Police said the crime was reported on the 2200 block of West 96th Street at about 7:25 p.m.

Two offenders approached a male victim from behind, police said, and one of them displayed a handgun while the other took items, including a cellphone, from the victim.

The offenders then fled on foot down an alley.

They were described as black males, between 17 and 20 years old, about 5’9”, 170 pounds.

One was wearing a black and gold Pelle Pelle jacket and dark jeans, and the other was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark jeans.

Police encouraged citizens to call 911 immediately and provide a detailed subscription if they see suspicious people, and to install tracking software and security locks on cellphones.
