Sisters of St. Casimir

A Mass praying for the beatification of Venerable Mother Maria Kaupas, foundress of the Sisters of St. Casimir, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9:30 a.m., in the St. Casimir Center chapel, 2601 W. Marquette Road.

The Rev. Thomas Kasputis, associate pastor of St. Agnes Church, in Chicago Heights, will be the celebrant.

All are invited. Light refreshments will be served after the liturgy.

Immanuel United Church of Christ 

Immanuel United Church of Christ and Rising UP! Inc., will offer a free class to newcomers at the weekly Tai Chi classes held at the church, 9815 S. Campbell Ave.

The class is for seniors and all abilities, with seated and standing adaptations.

Ongoing classes meet every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The class fee is $10, pay-as-you-go.

Beverly Unitarian Church

The Green Sanctuary Group at Beverly Unitarian Church, 10244 S. Longwood Drive, will host its annual Winter Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The market will feature local, organically grown vegetables, herbs, mushrooms and apples, as well as soup mixes, cheese, veggie burgers, cheesecake, frozen yogurt, ice cream and baked goods. Singer Anna Stange will perform.

Sponsored by Faith in Place, the event helps small, local farmers extend their income beyond the growing season.
