Bethany Union Church

Bethany Union Church, 1750 W. 103rd St., will host “Build-a-Manger” on Sunday, Dec. 18, during the worship service at 10:30 a.m. This is a human manger scene with members of the congregation taking on the roles of each of the characters that were part of the first Holy Nativity scene from angels, to animals to shepherds. Immediately following the service, everyone will gather in Fellowship Hall for an afternoon of festivities, including a potluck luncheon, a $2 gift exchange and caroling on the corners of 103rd and Wood streets. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share and a wrapped gift to exchange.

Cameron will host “This Is Christmas!,” a candlelight service with music, on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. The story of the Holy Nativity will be proclaimed in scripture, word and music.

On Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, at 9 p.m., the traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve Worship will feature the message “Why Christmas Trees Aren’t Perfect.”

On Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, worship will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Morgan Park Presbyterian Church

The Beverly Morgan Park Community Choir, together with The Classic Act and the Chatham Choral Ensembles, will perform a Christmas concert and sing-along at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, in the Morgan Park Presbyterian Church, 2017 W. 110th Pl.

The community is cordially invited and there is no charge for admission. A free-will offering will be taken.

Morgan Park Baptist Church, 110th Street and Bell Avenue, will host its 86th Candlelight Carol Service on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The service will be filled with Christmas music and song with a very short message.

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9401 S. Oakley Ave., invites the community to share in the Christmas spirit with their special events scheduled on December 18, 24 and 25.

A special Sunday School Christmas program will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:45 a.m.

On Friday, Dec. 24, a family service will be held at 2 p.m.; a candlelight service will be held at 10:30 p.m.

On Christmas morning, a carol worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. All are invited.
