Several residential burglaries were reported in East Beverly in early September, according to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police Department’s Area South detectives bureau on Sept. 4.
Police said offenders removed screens, then entered houses through open windows and stole property.
In one incident, police said, a victim heard movement in his home around 4 a.m., then saw three males run out of the residence. The offenders took car keys, police said, and fled in the victim’s car.
They were described as between 18 and 25 years old, wearing hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans; one of them was carrying a flashlight.
Burglaries were reported on Sept. 1 on the 1600 block of West 106th Street, and on Sept. 2 on the 1700 block of West Walter Burley Griffin Place and the 10400 block of South Prospect Avenue.
All residences were burglarized between midnight and 6 a.m., police said.
Police advised residents to secure all windows and doors, and consider installing alarm and surveillance systems.
