A production crew from the NBC TV show “Chicago Fire” visited County Fair Foods, 10800 S. Western Ave., on July 25 to film scenes for this fall’s eighth season. Dozens of people gathered outside the grocery store to catch a glimpse of the action, which took place that morning. According to a staff member on scene, County Fair will be featured in the second episode as a grocery store in Indiana. Most of the filming took place inside the store, the staff member said. He said in selecting locations, crew members choose a handful of potential sites, and the director takes over from there. “He gets the ultimate final say—‘Yeah, this is what I’m looking for,’” the staff member said. County Fair was closed during the filming. (Review photos)
