The Beverly Arts Center (BAC), 2407 W. 111th St., will hold classes in visual arts this winter.
Instructor Kat Huddleston will teach the following classes:
Advanced Fused Glass, Sundays, from 1 to 3 p.m., beginning Jan. 12.
This class will take beginning fused-glass students to a new level as they learn advanced techniques including creating scenes, slumping and firing schedules. The advanced class is for students who have taken the beginning class and for more experienced fused-glass artists. Students will create several pieces throughout the 10-week course.
Teen Painting 101, Saturdays, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 11.
Painting 101 is for teens ages 12 to 17 and is part of the BAC Art Start College Prep Program. The class will delve into the foundations of painting as students learn the basics of watercolors and acrylic painting. Students will finish several paintings throughout the 10-week course.
Teen Painting 201, Saturdays, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., beginning Jan. 11.
Painting 201 is for teens age 12 to 17 and continues students’ artistic journey as they develop their skills in watercolors and acrylic painting. Students will finish several paintings throughout the 10-week course.
Huddleston is an award-winning fused-glass and mixed-media artist based in Chicago. Huddleston has taught at Oakton Community College and ITT Technical Institute. Huddleston is a working artist with pieces in the Jackson Junge Gallery in Chicago, Promise You Art House in Highland, Ind., the Gallery on 2nd in Kewanee, Ill., and the Liz Long Gallery in Chicago.
