The La Porte County Master Gardeners will host their spring garden show on Saturday, March 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Michigan City High School, 8466 Pahs Rd., in Michigan City, Ind.
Keynote Speaker Beth Botts will present two talks, including “Growing Green in a Changing Climate” from 10 to 11 a.m. Botts will discuss how changing climate doesn’t affect gardens, how to have an adaptable garden for continuing enjoyment and how to reduce a garden’s climate footprint.
The second talk will be “Vegetables Anywhere: How to Fit Farming Into Your Life” from 1 to 2 p.m. Botts will discuss edible gardening in small urban spots, raised beds, balconies and vertical gardening in small places.
Other speakers will include Dolly Foster, “Gardening for the Monarchs,” Bob Dixon, “How to Keep Flowers at Their Best” and Carrie Conway, “Spring Salads.”
Other session topics will include food preservation, bats, landscaping and bees.
There will also be an all-day Kids Fun Zone, vendors and food.
Admission is $10. Children under 12 are free.
