The Beverly Arts Center (BAC), 2407 W. 111th St., will host day camps for students when school is not in session.
The camps will provide arts-enrichment activities and will be held on Oct. 14, Nov. 8, Nov. 11, Dec. 30, Dec. 31, and Jan. 2 and 3, 2020. Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and will offer optional pre- and post-camp care.
“Our goal with these camps is to provide parents with a space to send their kids where they can be engaged with the arts and make memories, even when school is not in session,” said Interim Director of Education Carly Bishop. “As a working mother, I understand how hard it can be when a child has days off that a parent does not, and we want to help ease that burden.”
Each session of day camp will give participants a different art experience every hour, ranging from dance to visual arts to games and more. Campers may start with sketch comedy games, move on to hip hop and break-dancing, make slime, sing a Broadway torch song, or partake in any number of fun and engaging activities. Students will have the opportunity to play outside during breaks (weather permitting) and watch a movie on the big screen in the BAC theater.
Day camp is $42, $38 for BAC members per day. Pre-camp care is $8, and post-camp care is $16.
