Olivia Taylor, 14-year-old resident of Newburgh, Ind., and granddaughter of Beverly residents Tony and Rose Norris, earned a gold medal for her solo jazz performance at the 2019 International Dance Organization World Championships in Poland. Taylor also earned bronze medals for her contemporary solo performance, contemporary duo performance and contemporary ensemble performance, and she earned a fourth-place award for her jazz group ensemble.
Taylor is a nationally recognized dancer who trains at Thrive Dance Company and School of Ballet Indiana. She attends Castle High School in Newburgh, Ind., where she is an honor student and member of the school’s dance team. Taylor has been traveling to Little Rock, Ark., for the past two years to learn choreography and rehearse with the American Dance Company.
Taylor is the daughter of Matt and Erika Norris Taylor, who attended Morgan Park High School and Indiana University School of Law before settling in southwest Indiana.
