Dr. Don Baird, of Beverly, will sign copies of his new book, “Suffering is Highly Overrated: Reflections on Humor and Life,” on Saturday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Markland Hubbard Gourmet Provisions, 1739 W. 99th St.
In his new book, Baird shares what he’s learned about using humor to cope with life’s challenges from such diverse “teachers” as Muhammad Ali, Roger Ebert, Dick Gregory, the Dalai Lama and even Mel (Bugs Bunny) Blanc and Senor Wences.
Baird is the 2019 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. He has spoken on humor and coping at national and international conferences.
Autographed copies of Baird’s book will be available for purchase. Light snacks will be provided.
