Brews & I Do’s

Couples can find information about local wedding vendors at “Brews & I Do’s,” on Sunday, April 7, at Open Outcry Brewing Company, 10934 S. Western Ave.

South Side couples are invited to attend “Brews & I Do’s,” a new wedding event featuring local businesses at Open Outcry Brewing Company, 10934 S. Western Ave., on Sunday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy a beer and a bite to eat while they meet local vendors, check out the latest decor trends, listen to music and get help with planning their wedding.

The event will feature 12 vendors covering all of the most-requested wedding vendor categories—photography, floral, planning, honeymoon and destination wedding travel, music, hair, make-up, wedding cakes and desserts, invitations, staffing, fitness and other beauty services.

“We decided to host this event because we thought it would be a fun way to showcase local businesses,” said Laura Hayes of Anticipation Events, one of the event organizers. “We hope that engaged couples and their families and friends will come by, enjoy a beer and have a good time while learning more about all the wedding services our local community offers.”

The event is organized by four local wedding professionals, Cristin Geimer of Redberry Floral, Diego Ivan Martirena of Maplewood Photography, Megan Amelio of Romance and Leisure Travel, and Laura Hayes of Anticipation Events in partnership with Open Outcry Brewing Company.

“We are thrilled to be the host venue for the first ever ‘Brews & I Do’s’ wedding event,” said John Brand, owner of Open Outcry. “As a local business, it’s important to us to do what we can to support other small businesses, and this is a great way to that.”

“I am excited to get together with Laura, Cristin and Diego to showcase some of the premier wedding vendors on the South Side,” said Amelio. “Instead of traveling to the suburbs or the North Side, couples can get to know the local vendors right in their own neighborhood.”

Admission is free, but to win prizes and more, attendees are encouraged to register online at
