Queen of Martyrs landscape contest

Queen of Martyrs students act out “It’s a Hard Knock Life–Queen of Martyrs Style.” The video submission was selected as the winner of the William Quinn & Sons Landscape makeover contest. The school will receive $5,000 in landscaping and 300 square feet of brick pavers courtesy of William Quinn & Sons Landscape.

Queen of Martyrs Catholic Elementary School, in Evergreen Park, was the winner of the William Quinn & Sons Landscape Makeover Contest held for local Catholic schools.

Queen of Martyrs will receive $5,000 in landscaping and 300 square feet of paver bricks.

Queen of Martyrs Principal Kathleen Tomaszewski, her staff and many of the children created a video spoof of “It’s a Hard Knock Life–Queen of Martyrs Style!” with rewritten words and great acting. The video can be seen on the Queen of Martyrs Facebook page.

Each student also created a flower shaped like their hand and answered questions stating why the school should be chosen.

Queen of Martyrs offers half- and full-day preschool and kindergarten through eighth-grade faith-based education with options for extended day. Queen of Martyrs educates the whole child: mentally, physically and spiritually.
