Barrel Club opens

Assistant General Manager John Zawaski Jr. (from left), business partner Al Little and General Manager John Zawaski celebrate the opening of The Barrel Club Restaurant and Bar, 4910 W. 111th St., in Oak Lawn, on July 8. The Barrel Club’s grand opening is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10. Zawaski, a Beverly native, said the restaurant will offer over 200 whiskeys and bourbons, including its own signature drinks, along with a menu that includes steaks, chicken and chops. Flights of whiskey range from $18 to $100, with the high-end flight including Jack Daniels Sinatra Select, Macallan Rare Cask and WhistlePig Boss Hog. The restaurant is available for private parties and has three patios, with a pub shed available on one patio. A Spirit of the Month Club is available for a $99 membership fee plus a $39 monthly fee. Zawaski said he believes whiskey’s popularity will follow that of craft beer. “I was just trying to beat everyone to the punch.” Little and his family are the longtime owners of Dingers Sports Bar, 10638 S. Western Ave. The Barrel Club is open seven days a week, and the kitchen will be open for dinner only during its first month. The kitchen is open from 4 to 10 p.m., with bar hours from 3 p.m. to midnight Sunday-Wednesday and 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday. A lunch menu will be available soon, with the kitchen open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information about The Barrel Club Restaurant and Bar, call (708) 581-3357 or visit the website at barrelclubillinois.com.
