St. Benedict Catholic School, 2324 New St., in Blue Island, will celebrate Catholic Schools Week from Sunday, Jan. 26, through Sunday, Feb. 2.
Catholic Schools Week is a national celebration of Catholic education and an opportunity to recognize the importance, value and contributions of Catholic education to the Church and the world.
Catholic Schools Week is sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
This year’s theme is “Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.”
St. Benedict School will kick-off the festivities with an open house and curriculum fair on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
On Monday, Jan. 27, St. Benedict will celebrate the Blue Island community by thanking local businesses. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the school will celebrate faculty, staff and volunteers with an all-school PJ Day to thank those who do so much to make St. Benedict such a great place.
Wednesday, Jan. 29, will celebrate the nation through the power of prayer. Thursday, Jan. 30, will be a celebration of vocations. Students will dress as their future careers.
On Friday, Jan. 31, students will enjoy a pep rally to celebrate all they do. The exciting activities will enhance camaraderie and create lifelong memories. On Saturday, Feb. 1, the school will celebrate families by spending time with and reflecting on what makes families special.
