The Beverly Ridge Lions Club honored the local winners of the annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest on Oct. 17 at its Thursday luncheon meeting at 115 Bourbon Street. This year’s theme was “Journey of Peace,” and students from St. Christina and Sutherland elementary schools artistically expressed their visions of peace. The St. Christina Elementary School winners included first-place, Wyatt Senese (from left), followed by Sarah Rodriguez, Izzy Hernandez and Claire Cotter. Hernandez and Cotter tied for third place. All the students are seventh-graders. The winners from Sutherland Elementary School were unable to attend the lunch due to the Chicago Teachers Union strike. The winners included Makenna Connor, first place, Rayahnna Eggleston and Brooklyn Searcy. The winners and their parents were the club’s guests for lunch.
