Connor O’Malley (left) and Billy Petto

St. Barnabas Elementary School students Connor O’Malley (left) and Billy Petto enjoy an activity during Elective Day. Students in grades six to eight chose subjects that included STEM, personal finance, jewelry making, sign language, photography, baking, debate, public speaking, and dance. St. Barnabas began offering these electives in October, and they will be offered once a month as a way to continue instruction that is engaging and personalized. Offering electives also allows teachers and administrators a way to share talents they otherwise wouldn’t be able to in class, providing students an opportunity to learn new things.
