Mary Rita Klees (nee Spellacy), 97, of Morgan Park, died July 4.
Visitation will be held Aug. 31, at 11 a.m., at St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church. A memorial Mass will follow at noon. Donnellan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Judy Smith McDonald (Dennis), Charlie (Eileen) Klees, Rita Klees, Louise (Tom) Haslett, and Grace Klees (Jerry Strom); her grandchildren, William (Marcy), Brian (Heather) and Kevin (Mary) Smith, Jack (fiance Sheila Casey), Jonah and Lyle Klees, Carolyn (CJ) Lind, Thomas (Amy) Haslett, Nell (Maxime) Haslett-Brousse, Andy, Madeline and Tim Strom, Stephen (Sierra) and Sarah Harris; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Klees was a graduate of St. Bernard’s School of Nursing. She lived for over 40 years on Bell Avenue in Morgan Park, enjoying cocktails on her front porch. She was an active member at St. Cajetan. She enjoyed her nursing career, playing bridge, golf, reading and socializing with friends and neighbors.
She was married for 56 years to her late husband, John Klees, owner of Klees Golf Shop.
The family sent its thanks to her nieces, Mary Jo, Donna and Pat, and their families, along with her caregiver, Linda, for their kindness and patience during the last few years.
