Meg Rooney, a Beverly resident and educator at Kellogg Elementary School, died on May 17 at age 57.
Rooney served as a counselor and case manager at Kellogg, and she was active in the community for a variety of causes--most notably, for her family's close relationship with the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
Rooney's husband, John Flynn Rooney, a renowned journalist, died of ALS in June 2016.
Meg Rooney served on the board of directors for the Les Turner ALS Foundation, which served as the grand marshal of the South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2017.
Meg and John Flynn Rooney had three sons--Edmund, Jack and Daniel.
Her private funeral services will be live streamed at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, here
A memorial Mass in her honor will take place at a later date.
