Letters to the Editor

I’m one of those stuck at home with little or no work.

In between reading and watching TV, I’ve been calling friends and relatives who are mostly home and are glad to talk with me. (Since the robocallers are on hiatus, they’ll actually answer.)

Check on your single friends (so far, mine are OK) and senior citizens (ditto), and call a friend you haven’t talked with (maybe in years) and catch up with them. You’ll be glad you did.

Speaking of reading, “The Plague,” by Albert Camus, is one of the best books I have ever read, and it would seem particularly appropriate now.

The libraries are closed, but you can order it online from our local bookstore (bookiesbookstore.com), if you don’t already have a copy.

Stay indoors, and be safe and warm!

Once this passes, I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends and neighbors again.
