Letters to the Editor

We were going to “do it all again this year.”

After the success of last year’s showing of “Big Night” at the Beverly Arts Center, members of the Morgan Park Junior Woman’s Club were preparing for another movie night this year—same place same time—to benefit the Maple Morgan Park Community Food Pantry.

Unfortunately, because of the angst about the corona virus and out of a great sense of precaution, the year’s showing of the movie “Chocolat” on April 8 has been canceled.

Needless to say, we are frustrated and concerned.

Hunger is a real problem in our neighborhood—1 out of every 6 persons is food insecure.

The Maple Morgan Park Food Pantry is one of 700 facilities in Chicago that feeds thousands of people, including our own neighbors, each year.

Food is love. Please show your love for the customers of the Maple Morgan Park Food Pantry by making a monetary donation to the food pantry at 11030 S. Longwood Dr., Chicago IL 60643. The telephone number is (773) 239-3013.

On the evening of Wednesday, April 8, please place a telephone order with either Buona Beef, (773) 941-6980, or Home Run Inn Pizza, (773) 432-9696, and a portion of that evening’s profits will benefit the food pantry.

Please visit the website for the Morgan Park Junior Woman’s Club or our Facebook page for specific information.

In advance, we thank you all.
