We participated in the anti-racism march on Saturday, Sept. 7, and found it was a moving event that showed the best of the 19th Ward.

Both the Southsiders for Peace and the Southwest Chicago Diversity Collaborative deserve credit for a well organized and executed march and rally.

Many thanks to the Chicago Police Department who helped us safely cross the streets and the Chicago Park District who provided space for the rally.

It was great seeing local officials, civic organizations and religious congregations in attendance. We appreciated the support of local businesses that cheered us on.

The number of marchers, and the support we received from people honking as they drove by, showed that “Hate Has No Home Here.”
