Opening the Class 7A state semifinal in Villa Park, the Caravan (13-0) scored on its first play from scrimmage; Justin Lynch hit Jaali Parker for a school-record 99-yard touchdown reception.

Kenenna Odeluga (158 rushing yards, 2 TD), Lynch (57 rushing yards, TD, 206 passing yards, TD) and Tony Livermore (62 receiving yards) led the offense.

Marty O’Brien (7 tackles, INT), Jason Thompson (4 tackles) and Lance Swain (4 tackles, INT) paced the Mt. Carmel defense.

The Caravan will play Nazareth Academy (13-0) on Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. for the state title at Northern Illinois University.

Boylan Catholic 21

The two-headed running back monster of sophomore Kaleb Brown (138 rushing yards, 3 TD, kickoff return TD) and junior Kyle James (113 rushing yards, 2 TD) powered host St. Rita (10-3) in the Class 5A state semifinal showdown.

Michael Gaughan (12 tackles), Michael Milton (9 tackles), Zenin Hall (7 tackles), James (7 tackles, INT), Tramon Lias (6 tackles, blocked punt), Mykai Harris (6 tackles), Tommy Hixson (INT) and Evan Wojcicki (5 tackles, 2 sacks) led the Mustangs defensively.

St. Rita will face Rochester (12-1) on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. for the state title.

Warren Township 28

Br. Rice 0

Playing on the road in Gurnee in a Class 8A state semifinal, Br. Rice (8-5) was unable to get into the end zone against one of the state’s toughest defenses. Warren outgained the Crusaders with 330 total yards to 198.

Junior running back Willie Shaw carried the ball 13 times for 100 yards.

Denver Warren (9 tackles), Myles Jones (7 tackles), Giacomo Iraci (6 tackles), Mick Badke (6 tackles) and Alex Roche (5 tackles, 2 sacks) led the defense.

Lincoln-Way East 24

Marist 7

The host RedHawks (8-5) trailed 14-7 late in the third, but a fumble near midfield was recovered by Lincoln-Way East (13-0). The Griffins scored to go up by 10 points.

Senior quarterback Hayden Mikesell finished with 168 passing yards, a TD and 2 interceptions along with 39 rushing yards for Marist. He connected with Brendan Barry (80 receiving yards) for a 27-yard TD strike. Freshman Carnell Tate added 4 catches for 59 yards.

Junior running back Nate Thomas piled up 225 yards and 3 touchdowns (4, 53 and 69 yards) on 22 carries for host St. Laurence (7-5) in the Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic Conference championship game.

Brailyn Johnson (15-yard receiving TD) and Darius Wilson (56 passing yards, 67 rushing yards) chipped in offensively for the Vikings.

St. Laurence will host Simeon Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. in the Prep Bowl.

Jason Moore (36 rushing yards, 30 passing yards) and Mike Passarelli (41 rushing yards) led De La Salle (5-7).

Morgan Park 16

Playing at Gately Stadium in the Chicago Public League championship game, Morgan Park made a huge fourth-down stand early in the fourth quarter and scored a touchdown a play later to draw within a touchdown at 22-16.

Simeon answered with a 59-yard drive to close out the rivalry showdown.

Napoleon Williams and Deshun Britten scored a TD apiece for Morgan Park (7-5).
