Game of the Week

Game of the Week

Summary: Montini (2-0) at Mt. Carmel (2-0), Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m.

The Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic Conference schedule opens with a gem featuring two of the winningest programs in the state.

The Broncos are coming off an easy Week-2 win over Collins and will run into a Caravan defense that was downright stingy in its own Week-2 win at Maine South.

The Mt. Carmel defense features playmakers all over the field. Lance Swain had 7 tackles against the Hawks, and Sam De Valle and Ben Perry added an interception each. Jason Thompson also recovered 2 fumbles, returning one for a touchdown.

Quarterback Justin Lynch and running back Kenenna Odeluga have been steady through two victories but will face a stiff test against the Broncos. Still, the Caravan is back home under the lights at Barda-Dowling Stadium at Carey Field and will ride the momentum off that big Week-2 road win with a victory in its league opener.
