Jalen Johnson made his impact felt on both sides of the ball, rushing 7 times for 73 yards and delivering 11 tackles as he played linebacker for the first time this season for Leo (3-3, 2-0). The game was played at St. Rita.

Willie Shaw (112 rushing yards, TD), Jack Lausch (57 yards) and Ben Somers (35 yards) led the Crusaders ground game in the CCL/ESCC-Blue showdown in Wilmette.

Somers also threw for 98 yards with Chase Hall (54 yards) and Dwayne Moorehead (28 yards, TD) his prime targets.

Justin Jefferson led the defense for Br. Rice (4-2, 1-1) with 10 tackles. Giacomo Iraci (7 tackles), Mario Brown (6), Jacob Sullivan (6) also contributed. Loyola piled up 428 yards on offense, including 279 rushing yards.

Junior running back Tajheem Lawson had 27 carries for 248 yards and 5 touchdowns (29-, 13-, 32-, 36- and 6-yard runs) for host Marian Catholic (4-2, 2-0) in the CCL/ESCC-Red showdown.

Jah’mar Daniel (123 rushing yards, 59-yard TD run), Anjay Rush (123 rushing yards, 7-yard TD run), Darius Mahone (3-yard TD run), Justin Stallworth (6-yard TD pass) and Ronald Thomas (TD pass) all contributed to the Spartans’ offensive outburst.

Host St. Laurence (3-3, 0-2) led 17-14 through three quarters, but Benet (6-0, 2-0) scored the go-ahead touchdown midway through the fourth. The Vikings outrushed the Redwings 286-116 and in total yards, 385-298.

Nate Thomas (158 rushing yards, TD), Darius Wilson (68 rushing yards), Keith McBee (56 receiving yards) and Brailyn Johnson (63 rushing yards, TD, 36 receiving yards) led the Vikings on offense.

Damion Rhoden paced the defense with 2 interceptions with Will Waters (9 tackles, 2 sacks), Sean Burns (6 tackles), Bryan Walsh (6 tackles) and Sean Harrison (6 tackles) also contributing.

Junior running back Kenenna Odeluga had a huge day on both sides of the ball, rushing for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns for Mt. Carmel (6-0, 2-0). He also forced a fumble that Mario Davis scooped up and scored on a 20-yard return.

Justin Lynch rushed for 63 yards for the Caravan. Marty O’Brien had an interception and recovered a fumble that was forced by Lance Swain. Ben Perry and Austin Mariel-Haygood had 9 tackles each, and Jason Thompson piled up 4 tackles for a loss for negative 15 yards.

For host Marist (3-3, 0-2), Dontrell Jackson threw for 168 yards and a TD and also rushed for 33 yards. Carnell Tate (52 receiving yards, TD), Brendan Barry (51 yards), Timothy Warr (38 yards) and A.J. Markett (37 yards) led the aerial attack.

Amari Watkins had a big day on the ground with 130 rushing yards and a TD.

Colin Bohanek (14 tackles), Kivonte Houston (10 tackles), Triston Schultz (sack) and Tavaris West (6 tackles) paced the RedHawks defense.

Senior Ar’juan Bester rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns for Morgan Park (3-3) in the Chicago Public League crossover game at Gately Stadium. Junior QB Cam Fulton threw for 156 yards and a TD and also rushed for 54 yards.

Senior Demonta Byrd (2 sacks) and Noah Malone (pass break-up, sack) led the Mustangs on defense.

The Mustangs rolled to the South Suburban Red Conference road game in Summit, improving to 3-3, 2-2.

Jack Manso threw for 36 yards and 2 touchdowns, hooking up with Sean Wilkinson (rushing TD) and Malcolm Horton for a receiving TD each. A balanced rushing attack for Evergreen Park included big numbers from James Williams (90 rushing yards, TD), Antowan Underdue (83 yards, 2 TD) and Charles Parker (42 yards, TD).

Kyle James had 2 interceptions on defense and also rushed for a TD for St. Rita (3-3, 1-1) in the CCL/ESCC-Green showdown in New Lenox.

Sophomore Kaleb Brown had 153 rushing yards and 2 scores.

On defense, Michael Gaughan posted a gigantic day with 18 total tackles and 3 tackles for a loss. Tramon Lias (8 tackles) and Michael Milton (7 tackles, 1 TFL) provided key defensive efforts for the Mustangs.
