The Green Sanctuary Group of Beverly Unitarian Church will host an electronic and hazardous household waste collection on Saturday, May 1, from 8:30 to 11 a.m., at the Morgan Park United Methodist Church parking lot, 110th Place and Longwood Drive.

Electronic items that will be accepted include computers, monitors, printers and peripherals, cell phones, tablets and televisions no larger than 24 inches.

Properly sealed hazardous household items accepted include mercury-flourescent bulbs, antifreeze, used motor oil, gasoline, oil-based paints, paint thinner, spray paints, car batteries, rechargeable batteries, lawn chemicals, pesticides, solvents, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, hobby chemicals and mercury thermometers.

Eyeglasses and clean styrofoam also will be accepted for reuse or recycling.

No alkaline batteries, appliances, bio-hazardous products, telephones and peripherals, standard cleaning products, Freon, incandescent bulbs, boomboxes, stereo equipment, televisions larger than 24 inches, and water-based paints including latex and acrylic paints will be accepted.

Donations are encouraged at the event to help defray collection costs.
