Crime report

Two shootings occurred on Interstate 57 near Beverly/Morgan Park exits early the morning of Aug. 31, according to the Illinois State Police (ISP).

No one was seriously injured in either incident.

The first shooting occurred near 111th Street at about 2:10 a.m., officials said.

A 27-year-old woman from Markham who was a passenger in a vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot, and she was taken to an area hospital.

The driver of that vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Markham, was not injured.

Preliminary reports indicate the shots were fired from an unknown vehicle traveling south.

The second shooting occurred near 127th Street at about 5:30 a.m., officials said.

The driver of the victimized vehicle, a 52-year-old man from Chicago, was not injured, though his car was damaged.

Both shootings are under investigation.
