Rich McAvoy and Lisa Kazimierczuk

Rich McAvoy and Lisa Kazimierczuk enjoy a Polar Shake, available through March 31 at Diggity Dogs, 11055 S. Pulaski Rd. A portion of the sale of each Polar Shake will benefit the Mt. Greenwood Special Recreation Association at Mt. Greenwood Park.

Diggity Dogs, 11055 S. Pulaski Rd., has partnered with staff at Mt. Greenwood Park to raise funds for the Mt. Greenwood Special Recreation Association (MGSRA) by selling “Polar Shakes” that are available now through March 31.

Approximately $1.50 of every Polar Shake sold will go directly to the MGSRA, which provides year-long programs and activities for more than 100 MGSRA athletes who participate in the programs of Special Olympics Chicago (SOC).

For the 20th year, the MGSRA will have a team participating in the Chicago Polar Plunge, which will take place virtually March 1 to 7 and benefit SOC.

Diggity Dogs Owner Lisa Kazimierczuk will be plunging once again with the MGSRA. She will be joined by MGSRA coaches Rich McAvoy and Lisa Wisniewski. Special Olympics Chicago athlete Nate Simon will also be virtually plunging this year.
