A northern goshawk is seen on Oct. 4 after flying into a porch screen at Dale Fast’s home in North Beverly. According to allaboutbirds.org, the northern goshawk is a fiercer relative of the Cooper’s hawk. An accipiter, the goshawk has superb aerial agility. The name comes from the Old English word for “goose hawk.” Send interesting pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org. (photo by Dale Fast)
