A juvenile was arrested after officers saw him with a handgun in a vehicle just outside East Beverly, according to the 22nd District of the Chicago Police Department.
Police said the arrest occurred on Feb. 11.
Officers observed the 15-year-old juvenile clutching his side before placing an object behind the driver’s seat of a vehicle on the 9900 block of South Vincennes Avenue. Further investigation revealed the object to be a loaded gun, and the teen was taken into custody.
Officials with the 22nd District announced the arrest on Twitter.
Police do not release the names of juveniles who have been arrested.
