Residents can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic, serious conditions with affordable screenings by Life Line Screening at American Legion Post 854, 9701 S. Kedzie Ave., in Evergreen Park, on Thursday, July 15. Screenings can check for plaque buildup in arteries, HDL and LDL cholesterol levels, diabetes risk, bone density, kidney and thyroid function, and more. Screenings are affordable, with packages starting at $149, and consultants will create a package based on age and risk factors. Pre-registration is required. The 19th Ward will host Full Body Strength Workout with Treadfit-Beverly on Sunday, June 27, at 9 a.m., at McKiernan Park, 10714 S. Sawyer Ave. The event is free and open to the public. COVID-19 measures will be followed. Hand sanitizer and bottled water will be provided. Participants should bring a yoga mat.

The Cook County Assessor’s Office is open for in-person visits by the public at its downtown and branch offices. All in-person visits are by appointment only and will require a mask, physical distancing and a health screening. These requirements apply to the downtown, Markham and Skokie locations.
