Local knitters sought for mittens

Kamaca Champion, owner of Miss Purl yarn store, 1824 W. 95th St., is selling mitten kits for $15 that customers can use to knit mittens to be returned to the store for donation to people in need. The campaign continues through Dec. 10. Champion said that, as of Nov. 18, 33 pairs of mittens had been knitted and returned. One kit can make a pair of adult mittens or two pairs of children’s mittens. Donations of mittens may also be returned to the 19th Ward office, 10400 S. Western Ave., and the Beverly branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1962 W. 95th St. For more information, call Miss Purl at (312) 513-6464. (Review photo)
