Halloween event canceled in Mt. Greenwood

The Mt. Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Trick or Treat Safety Walk, scheduled for Oct. 30, has been canceled. Chamber officials announced the decision on Sept. 24, citing “current world events” and safety concerns for children, parents and merchants. The annual event features businesses on 111th Street handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. Last year, hundreds of people streamed up and down the street on a snowy Halloween afternoon. “We look forward to hosting this event in October 2021,” organizers said.
