The Lemont Artists Guild and the Homer Township Public Library will present Photo Techniques for Macro Photography, Depth of Field and Soft Focus Photography on Wednesday, May 12, at 7 p.m.

Photographer and instructor Laurie Piton will give a virtual discussion/lecture on macro photography, depth of field and soft focus photography.

In the discussion of macro photography, Piton will discuss the different types of macro lenses and macro filters on the market, focusing for macro and lens opening techniques.

The depth of field discussion will include what depth of field is, how to control it, how to expand it and how to use it creatively.

The discussion on soft focus photography will cover image editing techniques and filters on the market.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions while discussing these topics. This is a great opportunity to learn about useful, creative and fun photo techniques from an experienced photographer.

Piton’s photography instruction, Creative Imagery, Inc., offers photography programs to students in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Her classes have equal part instruction and hands-on experience utilizing her experience of on-location assignments to aid students in real-life photographic situations.
