Pen and Ink Demonstration

The Lemont Artists Guild and the Homer Township Public Library will host an interactive webinar on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.

Dan Laib will present a pen-and-ink demonstration that makes use of a fine point Sharpie marker, and he will show how to draw with the pen, techniques for shading and giving texture with the pen.

Join the presentation and be prepared to draw along. Participants will need a fine-point marker, regular permanent marker or a ballpoint pen and something to draw on.

Laib got his start as an artist drawing “Sesame Street” characters with his crayons at the age of 5. He loved to draw and create things all throughout his childhood. Laib studied painting at Joliet Junior College and Governors State University.

He started selling his paintings on canvas and wood at city festivals, and before long, he was selling caricatures, too. Laib has been hired to draw caricatures for families and businesses all over Chicago, and he has entertained at the United Center, Soldier Field and Navy Pier.
