Perez Free Throw Championships

Boys and girls, ages 9 to 14, recently competed in the Father Perez Knights of Columbus Council 1444 Free Throw Championships held at Br. Rice High School. The 48 participants competed for the cherished crowns and the opportunity to advance to district competition.

Father Perez Knights of Columbus Council 1444 members and volunteers crowned nine free throw champions at its annual Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Championship for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 14 held recently at Br. Rice High School. Forty-eight aspiring players aged 9 to 14, 7 girls and 41 boys, competed.

The contestants vied for the championship within their gender and age-group. Each shooter took 3 warm-up tries and then 15 consecutive free throws. The competitor with the most made attempts in each group earned the Council Championship.
