Sock drive at De La Salle to help the homeless
- Updated

De La Salle Institute students who are enrolled in freshman and sophomore theology classes recently organized a sock drive for the homeless in an effort to offer community service to others. Large boxes were placed in each classroom and at the main entrance of the school to enable remote-study students to drop off their donations. When the project was finished, 1,211 pairs of socks had been collected. De La Salle faculty members Tom Dufficy, Richard Mooney and Fred Muehleman led the students in their project. The socks will be donated to the Salvation Army Shield of Hope Family Shelter and to the parish of St. Columbanus Church.
