Ronald E. Szymanski, 89, of Mt. Greenwood, died May 17.

Funeral services were held May 22 from Curley Funeral Home to St. Christina Roman Catholic Church. Private burial followed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his children, Paul (Valerie) Szymanski and Wendy (Kevin) Howard; his grandchildren, James and Christine (fiance Patrick Brucki) Szymanski and Jessica, Rachel and Marty Howard; and his brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Szymanski.

Szymanski was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an avid sports fan and a horse racing enthusiast.
