Edward H. White III, 85, of Beverly, died Dec. 10.

Private services will be held Dec. 19 at Beverly Ridge Funeral Home and St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church. The Mass will be live streamed. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Sheila (John) Stachura, Lisa (Jerry McNulty) White-McNulty, Stephen (Susanne Peters) White and Maria (Jeff) Lifka; his sister, Mary Lou (Francis) Donohoe; his grandchildren, Mallory (fiance Philip McLaughlin) and Lauren McSweeney, Andrea (Michael Breier) White, John and Patrick McNulty, and Sean, Caroline, Elizabeth and Brian Lifka; his great-grandchildren, Rylie and Reece Breier; his nieces and nephews; and his friends from Gleneagles Country Club and Willow Falls Independent Living.

White was a Leo High School graduate, a devoted member of the Leo High School Alumni Association and a proud member of the Leo Hall of Fame. He married Mary Lally in 1956, and they eventually settled in St. John Fisher parish where they raised their family.

White touched countless lives through his many years as a youth basketball coach at St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More. He eventually retired from the city of Chicago, which gave him the pleasure of spending more time on the golf course. Most recently, his beloved White Sox provided a bright spot in an otherwise cruel year.
