Vincent J. Sheridan, 93, formerly of Beverly, died Dec. 26.

A celebration of his life will be held in 2021 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Heeney-Laughlin Funeral Directors handled the arrangements.

Sheridan is survived by his daughter Karen (Sam); his sisters-in-law, Suzanne Kadlec and Alice Rooney; his brothers-in-law, Emery (Joan) Reistetter and Mike (Jan) Rooney; his nieces and nephews, John (Sheila), Sheila (Steve), Donna, Tricia (Roger), Sara (Brett), Vince (Jane), Joanne (Louie), Tom (Mary), Jeanie (Fitz), Teri, John, Beth (Donald), Jim (Jill), Tim (Julianne), Bob, Brian (Michelle), Em Jr., Tim (Kristine), Mark, Patrick (Lisa), Sharon (Bill), Joe (Lori), Tim (Cathy), Rick, Mary (Jeff), Kristin (Kim), Michele (Arturo), Kathy, Chris (Barb) and Leo; his former wives, Donna Petrulis and Traci Hutchinson; his stepdaughters, Paula (Don) Stanczik and Ursula (Frank) Leahy; members of the Swailes Family, Kim, Gary, Brett, Kevin and Scott; honorary family member Mary T. Burke; and Sara Morris, for whom he was “Gramps.”

Sheridan was the owner of Custom Travel Service in Beverly for more than 30 years and shared his love of travel with thousands of people.  

He grew up to be an Eagle Scout and graduated from St. Ignatius High School early to join the WWII war effort. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He was an avid Bears fan and proud of his volunteer work with the Tri-Ridge District of the Boy Scouts of America and the Beverly Ridge Lions Club.

Memorials in Sheridan’s name are appreciated to the Boy Scouts of America, the Beverly Ridge Lions Club or Honor Flight Chicago.
