John R. “Skip” Carey, 75, of Beverly, died May 15.
Funeral services were held May 22 from Heeney-Laughlin Funeral Directors to Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. Private interment followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Bridget) Carey, Monica (T.J.) Crowley and Jaclyn O’Connell; his grandchildren, Roxie, Mona, Maren, Jack, Mick and Maeve; his siblings, Frank, Patrick (Mary Beth), Michael (Mary) and Timothy (Peggy) Carey; and many nieces and nephews.
Carey was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Carey was a retired Chicago Police Department officer. He was the longtime owner of New Evergreen Restaurant. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman.
