In Corinne Rose’s letter to the editor (April 14), she expressed her opinion of what she viewed as divisive language used on the sign outside of McNally’s bar.
She makes a valid point. McNally’s could consider the following signage changes in the future:
Replace “Catholic school teachers are awesome. Putting our kids first” with “Teachers are awesome. Putting our kids first,” or “If you can read this, thank a teacher.”
Instead of “We don’t need pro athletes, but we need police officers,” replace it with “If you sleep well at night, thank the police.”
Words matter. Choose them wisely.
