Letters to the Editor

As our world works to return to “normal,” I am reminded—every day—that the Crisis Center for South Suburbia would never have survived the past 14 months without the incredible generosity and support of the community.

While many agencies were forced to close, our doors remained open to victims of domestic violence throughout the pandemic because people in our community donated everything from money to food, to cleaning supplies and to household basics.

Today, as a result of this unwavering support, we remain financially strong and stable. Most days, our shelter operates at capacity, and because of you, we are still here to provide safety and hope.

On behalf of the board of directors and the many victims you helped with emergency shelter, housing, counseling and more, I thank you. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, call our 24-hour, free and confidential hotline at (708) 429-SAFE.
