The Good News 2020

What a year 2020 has been for Dance Gallery Chicago!

You can’t keep its dancers down... the studio rolled with the changes and kept up with students’ passion for dance and artistry by implementing e-learning dance

classes in March and April.

Dance Gallery Chicago has returned, and the staff opened the doors to the studio after months of missing their home-away-from-home. They have persevered and survived, and we are so looking forward to a new dance season at Dance Gallery Chicago!

In the heart of Beverly at 10628 S. Western Ave., Dance Gallery Chicago offers dancers performance opportunities all year long. This year, its dancers performed in the Spring Showcase in June! In past years, dancers have also performed in local showcases, traveling the world, as well as attending dance competitions!

As owner and artistic director of Dance Gallery Chicago, Marylee Sinopoli watched as 25 of her best students took part in a truly magical performance July 2018 in “Dance the World” at Disney World.

Planning, rehearsing and prepping for the trip, the elite dancers from Dance Gallery Chicago performed in two pieces: a musical-theater tap number, as well as in the dazzling, jazzy Disney Parade through the amazing Magic Kingdom.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the dancers, choreographers and dance families of Dance Gallery Chicago, and for Sinopoli, pride was just one of the emotions she experienced while watching her students perform the skills they’ve learned as her students.

More memorable moments await Dance Gallery students this coming season!

Dance Gallery Chicago opened in Beverly in 1998 and is celebrating 22 years of quality dance instruction.

Sinopoli brings years of experience in teaching, choreographing and leading her staff of talented dance instructors.

Graduating from Barat College with a BFA in theater and dance, Sinopoli danced professionally. She trained extensively in ballet, jazz and modern dance at prestigious schools such as the Ruth Page Foundation, the Lou Conte Studio of Dance, and the Gus Giordano Dance Studio.

Sinopoli and her instructors offer an encouraging environment where students develop a strong background in dance, improve posture, flexibility, coordination and self-confidence.

Children’s classes include creative movement, tiny tap, pre-ballet, ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop and tap. Teen and adult classes include ballet, ballroom dancing, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theater, pointe, tap and yoga.

The studio’s richly decorated space doubles as an art gallery featuring oil paintings and sculpture created by Marylee’s mother, artist Barbara Majeski, as well as student artwork.

Dance Gallery has provided thousands of students–from age 2 through adult–with dance instruction in a family atmosphere. Many former pupils have gone on to some of the country’s best performing arts and dance schools and pursued dance as a career.

Families rave about Dance Gallery Chicago, as witnessed by this testimonial.

“Love the owner of the studio here. Extremely dedicated to her students’ progress and brings in all styles of dance: tap, ballet/pointe, jazz, modern, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, ballroom, creative movement, yoga. ... There are two separate dance floors, so two classes can run at the same time with no interference.”
